Dear ____________,

Thank you for everything you have done to prevent the destruction of Basic Aid schools.  I recognize that these are horrendous times for the state financially, and I applaud your decision to leave good schools intact, and local property taxes, local.

At 48th in the nation in weighted per-pupil spending, California must commit to leveling up, not leveling down. And the stakes are much too high to stand by while school communities are gutted, even as prison funding expands.

Your vote for education will be remembered.

Sincerely,

The Basic Aid Newsflash is published by a group of concerned citizens in Bolinas to support the organizing efforts of our communities in opposition to Governor Davis’ proposed taking of local property taxes. Help us build the network: email this around to as many parents, grandparents, press, staff, community members, etc. as you can. If you received this as a forward from someone else, subscribe by email to basicaidnews@earthlink.net. Thank you!
