Message from the Superintendent
January 26, 2008
It is with mixed feelings that I announce my retirement from the Tamalpais
Union High School District. After more than 40 years of service in the
public education system, my last day of work as the superintendent will
be July 31, 2008.
I have very much enjoyed working with the students, staff, parents,
and community of the Tamalpais Union High School District; almost every
day has brought not only new challenges but tremendous fulfillment. However,
I have reached a point in my life where it is time to explore new opportunities.
I will undoubtedly continue to be involved in education, but most likely
working part time in the private sector.
The Board of Trustees and I still have some clear goals that I will
continue to work on through the end of July. I will continue to be very
involved in both the day-to-day operations and the development and implementation
of district programs to maintain the high standards of the Tamalpais
Union High School District; this will also ensure an easy transition
for the next superintendent.
With its well-deserved reputation for academic excellence and highly
dedicated staff, the Tamalpais Union High School District will surely
attract a number of exceptional candidates for the position of superintendent.
Please be confident that I will be actively involved in the process to
ensure that the hiring pool consists of high-quality applicants.
Thank you for your continued support and for the honor of serving as
your superintendent.
Sincerely,
/s/ Bob Ferguson
Superintendent
