Welcome to the Tamalpais High School Library.
The library is located on the second floor of historic Wood Hall. The library program supports the school’s curriculum with a collection of 20,000 books, 60 current periodicals, and other media such as audiobooks, videos etc. A network of 15 desktop computers, 45 wireless laptop computers, a laser printer and color printer enable students to access the online catalog, numerous full-text databases, as well as internet access. The library program’s mission is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.
Eating is prohibited in the library. One reason for this is that there are several one of a kind items in the collection. This includes some historical items that date back to the first days of the school at the start of the 20th century and they should remain available for future students. Maintaining a clean environment free from items that will attract vermin and insects is essential. Another reason for this is that the library is a place for study. Noises and odors from food are distracting to many. Moreover, odors from food linger for several hours afterward.
Drinks in a covered container, gum, cough drops and mints are ok to consume. Please dispose of rubbish and recyclables in the appropriate containers. Your cooperation is vital in order to make this work.
Library hours: Monday - Thursday from 7:30am-7:00pm and on Fridays from 7:30am-4:00pm.
During finals week, June 6-9, the library will be open Monday - Wednesday from 7:30 am- 7:00 pm and on Thursday from 7:30 am - 1 pm. Thursday is the final student day.
