Applying to college and planning a career are daunting not only to students but also to parents. To assist students and families become familiar with the process, Tam's College and Career Center offers a wide range of services:

  • Tutorial period discussions on such topics as the pros and cons of applying to colleges under the early decision or early action programs and writing the college essay
  • Meetings with college representatives
  • A library of college catalogues, reference books, brochures and books on such special subjects as alternative schools and programs in the performing arts
  • Practice tests for college admissions tests (SAT, SAT Subject Tests) and a workshop for students and parents on college admissions testing
  • Evening programs featuring such guest speakers as admissions officers, financial aid specialists and admissions testing consultants
  • Career interest testing and access to current job postings
  • Community service listings to help students participate in local volunteer activities and to meet class requirements
