BOOK PUTS THE FOCUS ON FORTY YEARS AT TAM
Tamalpais High School has a rich history. Now you can get an inside look at
40 years worth in Tamalpais High School: A Remembered History, 1961 to 2000
(128 pp, $30). Robert Greenwood was the editor, and Boyce Quinn, Alice Dolan,
William Wallace, Peter Belden, John Nicholson, Robert Greenwood and Frank Gold
each contributed a chapter.
The book, published in summer 2003, captures the remarkable decades from the early 60s to the dawn of a new millennium and includes local issues, the development of the “teenager,” social-political changes and the key education trends of the last half of the 20th century. The book is illustrated with photographs ranging from the school’s founding in 1908 to modern times in the late 90s.
Books are available by mail from Tam High Foundation, 700 Miller Avenue, Mill Valley, CA 94941. Copies are $30 each plus $2.50 shipping and handling. You will also find copies at Tamalpais General Store in Mill Valley and Watermark Books on Tiburon’s Ark Row. The authors have generously donated all proceeds to Tam High Foundation for projects to enhance the quality of education for students at Tamalpais High School.
