October 2012:  Heroes in the Classroom is a program sponsored by Wells Fargo and the San Francisco 49ers.  Chelsea Springer, an English and Leadership teacher at Tam, is one of 16 teachers in the Bay Area who won this award for 2012.  She was presented with a $250 certificate for school supplies, and the school received $1,000.  Ms. Springer will be invited to a 49er game on October 11, where she will be introduced on the field with the other teachers during the half-time show.

Tam has another Hero in the Classroom -- Ms. Rebecca Henn, math teacher.  This is the second year in a row that a Tam teacher has been singled out as an outstanding teacher.  Winners for Heroes in the classroom are selected from written nominations submitted by students.
