The Drake MTB Team defended and retained its California State High School Championships title this weekend at Five Springs Farm in Petaluma, CA, securing first place for Division 1 for the 4th year in a row and 8th year total.  This was a wonderful send off for the last season of coaching from beloved long-time Coach Otis Guy. For Varsity boys, Dylan Fryer came in 2nd place overall and Otis Lyons placed 9th. Matthew Stranzl was in 7th place and River Samet earned 9th place for the JV boys race. Freshman boys Finn Melton 2nd, and Darwin Janson-Smith, 9th, also had strong races, and Sophomore Audrey Fehlhaber took the state championship title for JV girls while Sophomore Sasha Plicta came in 8th in the boys' race. CONGRATULATIONS, AND ROLL PIRATES!

7:00 pm - Exploring Educational Excellence (DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Berkeley Marina) - Join Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, and Rice University for an information session for prospective students and their families. You must register to attend, so click here:http://exploringeducationalexcellence.org/event_detail.php?id=421

6:30-7:30 pm - Essay Workshop for Juniors with representatives from Kenyon College, Reed College, and Sarah Lawrence College (Student Center) - In this interactive workshop, admission experts from three national liberal arts and sciences colleges that deeply value writing will share what makes a successful college essay and discuss how the essay fits into the college selection process.  Attendees will gain new perspectives to alleviate any fears and myths about the college essay, explore topics, strategies and approaches to essays that will help students authentically convey who they are. Interest in these colleges is not required for attendance but students must register to attend. As of 5/18/18, this event is full but students can add their name to the waitlist as it is expected that some registered students will not show up.

    Mon., June 4

12:10 pm - Senior Chat with recent Drake grads - several Drake graduates will be here to talk to seniors about the real expectations of college, compared to what students see on social media.  “We want to talk about the challenges and difficulties that are never mentioned when applying, and prepare the students for a real life change; something more than they are aware of. We want to stress the excitement of college, as well as the real details that are many times mislead throughout our society. We are here to answer the true questions people have whom are nervous, because we have been through it all.” Seniors - please sign up on Naviance under college visits.
