Welcome to 2021 Fall Football Cheerleading Season!
Below is the information for how to submit your paperwork and links to the tryout videos. Please be sure to read all of the following information below and if you have any questions, email coach Shannon McGuinness email@example.com.
On Monday May 17th from 3:30-5:30 in the Redwood Amphitheater we will be holding a cheer informational practice for any questions, tryout clarifications, and learning material. It is highly encouraged you attend this practice before trying out for our cheer program as this will model how our practices and program are as well as teach you the material needed for your tryout. If you for some reason cannot attend, but would like to participate in the cheer program please email Shannon: firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Tuesday May 18th from 3:00-6:00 in the Redwood Small Gym you will have your formal tryout in groups in front of a panel of judges. You will perform a cheer, the tryout dance, a toe touch jump, and a special skill/ability. Tryouts will not be judged by coach Shannon, but by graduated cheerleaders, former coaches, and other alumni. Applicants will be judged on: toe touch jump, cheer, dance, overall spirit & energy, and special skill/ability.
If you have not done so already, all Redwood students must be registered for Redwood athletics and have had a physical within the last year before they can tryout. For more information or to register:
***You do not have to have the registration complete upon the day you tryout, but you will have to have it completed with a physical before our first practice or you cannot particpate. You will have to sit and watch practice if it is not done by the first practice***
Below are two links for tryout applications: one is for the cheerleader to fill out and one is for the parent of said cheerleader. Please be sure that BOTH PARENT AND CHEERLEADER read the “Updated Tryout Packet & Contract” under Forms & Paperwork on the website before filing out the following forms. If I do not receive submissions for these forms by 6PM the day of your tryout, you will not be eligible for the team.
BOTH FORMS MUST BE FILLED OUT TO BE ELLIGIBLE FOR THE TEAM.
