Filing a Complaint with Dept. of Education

FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE U.S. DEPT. OF EDUCATION OFFICE FOR CIVIL RIGHTS

A complainant also has the right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) within 180 days of the date of the most recently alleged misconduct. If the complaint involves matters that occurred longer ago than this, a complainant may request a waiver of the requirement from OCR by providing an explanation as to why the complaint was delayed.
