TFT COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT (CBA): ARTICLE V: RETIREMENT
Unit members who are at least fifty-four (54) years of age and who have at least ten (10) years of service with the District (exclusive of sabbatical and other approved leaves of absence).
CSEA COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT (CBA): ARTICLE X: SALARY AND ALLOWANCES – SECTION I (RETIREMENT| BENEFITS | BLOCK INCENTIVE)
Unit Members who are at least 60 years of age and who have at least 10 years of service with the District are eligible for the block incentive.
ADDITIONAL RESOURCES AND THINGS TO CONSIDER:
- Approaching 65 and Medicare Info-page
- Medicare is managed by the Social Security Administration.
- The District does not pay for any portion of a retiree’s Medicare coverage; this is separate from District Benefit coverage.
- If you are a retiree (or dependent) over the age of 65, proof of Medicare with Parts A and B is required
- Once Retired and over 65, Medicare becomes your Primary coverage and any additional coverage through the District is considered Supplementary.
- Additional Medicare Resource:
- HICAP (the Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program) offers free, one-on-one Medicare counseling. Trained volunteer counselors can answer your questions and help you understand your Medicare rights and benefits, including how to appeal denials of coverage; Medicare supplemental insurance (Medigap policies); Medicare Advantage plans; employee and retiree coverage; and long-term care insurance.
