Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!

I am available to help with any questions or support students may need in the college search process. Students can access help with applications, essays, standardized testing information and mock test opportunities, as well a job board for opportunities in our community and help with work permits. The College & Career Center is also the place for students to research scholarships, community service, summer & international programs, and gap year options.

Students can find current information on hundreds of colleges, universities and vocational schools in the College & Career Center. They can meet with college admissions representatives during the fall semester. This fall we will be hosting virtual college visits before and after school, as well as during lunch, and are currently in the process of scheduling. Our list will continue to grow throughout the coming weeks, but for a current version check here. Please note that these meetings are intended for students. The admissions representatives are available to offer information on their schools and answer any questions you may have about campus life or applications. If you are unable to attend a visit, I'm always happy to provide a representative's contact information, and you can connect directly with the person that may be reading your college application.

The College & Career Center uses Naviance for college and career research and planning, and data includes a historical view of applications, acceptances, denials from Redwood students over the past few years. Each student and parent will have their own separate access to the student's account. Information from your Naviance account is not shared with colleges, and is only to help guide and provide information as you are exploring colleges. It does offer the ability for you to link to each college's official website and learn about college visits and scholarships. For a list of scholarships, go to your Naviance account, click on the College tab and scroll down to scholarship list. If you have any questions while using Naviance, please feel free to ask me, and I'll try and help guide you through.

During the Spring Semester, students can attend the Career Conversations in the College & Career Center during lunch to learn about a variety of careers. Our slate for 2022 will be announced in February.

My hope is to help clarify and de-stress this process. This can actually be a very positive time of exploration and creating the path that you want to pursue! From 9th-12th grade, you may have different questions, thoughts, paths, and all are part of the journey to figure out what will eventually be your best choice. As a former Redwood parent, I also have the perspective of going through all of these steps with my own children, and really want to assure you that there are so many wonderful options for our graduates! I will do my best to answer any questions you may have!
