I would be interested in joining the Tam Site Council. My son, Cole Glaubitz, just started his freshman year there and I am very interested in finding a way to be active in the Tam community.
I have worked part-time for the Mill Valley School District for 9 years now, and am currently working in the front office of Mill Valley Middle School from 10-2. Prior to working at MVMS, I worked for 7 years in the front office at Tam Valley Elementary, where my kids went to school.
In addition to working for MVSD, I have been active with the PTA at both Tam Valley Elementary and MVMS, and sat on the Mill Valley Council of PTAs for 6 years, finishing as its president. I have worked with the MVSD on a couple of collaborative projects, including district residency checks and anti-bullying policies. I served on the committees for Measure B and Measure E, both successful parcel tax measures for MVSD.
Thank you for your consideration
I am an ER doc who works at Kaiser in SF. I have a junior at Tam (Annika Emblad), and an eighth grader at MVMS (Alex Emblad). We moved here 3 years ago, but I have spent most of my life in San Francisco (3rd grade on).
My business background consists of starting a small company 8 years ago (Skuut, LLC) - making wooden balance bikes for kids (http://skuut.com/). I was also the Chief of the ED for 5 years, managing people and budgets.
About 13 years ago, I was on the board of directors for The Scandinavian School in SF, helping to take it from a monthly play group in a rented space in Fort Mason, to its permanent position with expanded teaching and multiple grade levels (near Laguna Honda). https://www.scandinavianschool.org/
I look forward to helping Tam High in its vision of becoming one of the top High Schools in the nation.
Thank you for your consideration.
I am interested in a position with the Site Council. I am a single father with two kids at Tam and a third on his way. I coached Little League and soccer here for four years.
I have been a human rights attorney for 30 years. I have lectured and taught attorneys in the United States, China and Central America. I have received awards for Defender of the Year, the Skip Glen award for defense of indigent persons, and an award for service to the African-American community in Newark, N.J. I was an organizer for a successful unionization effort, and then a shop steward for the Communications Workers of America in Newark as well.
My main interest is working with all sectors of the high school community to ensure students are provided a positive integrated environment, are adequately challenged and provided the necessary resources to succeed.
My name is Michelle Muir. I am the current Chair of the Tam High Site Council, and am running for a second term. My daughter is a sophomore at Tam High, and son a 2017 Tam graduate. I believe the Site Council, along with Tam teachers and administration, students and supporting parent groups, have made a lot of recent progress for the betterment of Tam. I would like to continue to help with the work of meeting the goals that have been set, as well as continue to help shape the vision for Tam going forward. My professional background is in accounting and finance, having earned a Masters of Accountancy, and worked in both public accounting and private practice. I have long had a passion for educational opportunities for youth. I am currently serving as the Treasurer of the Tam High Foundation Board, and have served as Treasurer for the Tam High PTSA, as well as Board of Trustee Treasurer for Bridge the Gap College Prep in Marin City, Lake Tahoe School, Marin Montessori School and the Marin Country Day School Parent Board, and Chair of the Beyond Borders Advisory Board. We are fortunate to have the educational opportunities and cultural experiences offered by Tam for our children and community, and I welcome the opportunity to continue to contribute through working with the Site Council.
My wife Kathy and I have lived in Mill Valley twenty years, with three children that have moved through our public school system. My daughter Sofia is currently a sophomore at Tam High, and my son Cristian is an eighth grader at MVMS, while my eldest is currently in his third year of a Md/Phd program at UCI.
I have been working in various Silicon Valley tech roles over the past twenty years, serving in senior executive positions at Excite@Home, Yahoo! and most recently at RingCentral. I was previously very involved as a volunteer with Anna Lazzarini as part of the MVMS Disciplinary Committee, working closely with teachers, law enforcement and students running into trouble.
I am very proud of our community and our school system, and would find it very rewarding to once again, contribute by volunteering my time and applying my seasoned background in business to help the school in any way I can. I believe there's always areas to improve, and bringing my kids to attend last week's Not In Our Town: Light in the Darkness makes it clear that there is work to be done.
I would like to apply for the site council position. I am a Tam parent of a senior, Jesse Newman, and a Freshman, Grace Newman. I am the Community School Coordinator for Bayside MLK, a school that feeds into Tam High. My background is in restorative justice, and I am a licensed attorney in the State of California.
I have a freshman named Madeleine. We are relatively new to Marin having been in SF for 17 years. In addition to Maddy, I have 3 younger children who will likely also attend Tam High. I want to be involved in a meaningful way, and know that my family will benefit if I do.
I am a Wealth Management Associate at Morgan Stanley in San Francisco. Previously, I taught preschool at Calvary, also in SF. I am a native Washingtonian but have called California home since 1999
