• Dear Sophomore and Junior Students, Parents, and Guardians:

Beginning Wednesday, September 7th, 2022, sign-ups for the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will open at Archie Williams High School. This test will be offered on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 7:45 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. (end time is approximate). This is the only time this optional exam is offered during the 2022-23 school year.

This will be the last year that the PSAT and SAT will be in paper format. Beginning next year, the College Board will be offering both tests in a digital format. Therefore, all juniors planning to take the SAT this year should consider taking the PSAT in October. For our sophomores, we are providing you this opportunity as well, however, please know that the format for the PSAT and SAT will be different next year, meaning, you may or may not find value in this test this year. Next year’s PSAT will better reflect the SAT you will be taking if you choose to do so. However, we leave this entirely up to you.

Students may sign up for the PSAT in person in the AWHS Assistant Principal’s Office during non-instructional time (before school, break, lunch, or after school) with $40.00 cash, check, or online at the AWHS student store. Sign-ups will begin on Wednesday, September 7th at 8:00 AM. The last day to sign-up is Friday, October 8 at 3:00 PM SHARP. Please sign-up early as there are limited numbers of tests available.

Students who sign up in person or online may pick up a copy of the College Board PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide in the Assistant Principal’s Office.
