Independent Science Research ClassIndependent Research is a class designed forpassionate science students interested inpursuing scientific research outside the schoolday. Students will work individually or in teamswith the assistance of a professional from thecommunity. The fundamental requirements forthe class is to conduct an approved researchproject, enter an accepted competition, andpresent findings in a professionalsymposium format.Students will also be required to attend thecourse on line on a weekly or bi-weekly basis where they might be evaluated by faculty, their peers, or learn new lessons. "Google Classroom" will be used for this year's course and an overview of the course will be presented the first full week at school during a lunch session.The following link will give you some ideas of competitions you might want to enter as a team or individually. Project competitions are varied. They range from science fair and written futuristic designs to engineering teams and a national rocket competition.
