Conor Fritz represented CMC and may read apps from our students but his main job is to travel internationally for the college.

Since todays's problems must be solved by people who look at solutions in a varitey of ways, he truly believes in a liberal arts education.

CMC is a highly selective, applied liberal arts college guided by its mission to prepare students for thoughtful and responsible leadership in the private, public, and social sectors. Traditionally known for their widely acknowledged expertise in economics and government, CMC featuers leading departments in the sciences, social sciences, and the humanities, supported by eleven world-class research institutes and centers. 

They were founded n 1946 and are part of The Claremont Colleges, a consortium of five undergraduate and two graduate institutions. The five undergraduate schools and Claremont Graduate University are contiguous within one square mile. 

CMC has 1345 students, 48% women and 52% men from 43 different countries and 46 states & territories. 

There are 2300 courses offered for cross-enrollment and a total of 8,750 students in the consortium. 

CMC offers over 30 majors, as wsell as double, dual, and off-campus majors. At CMC, in addition to completing the major requirements, you have the options to complete one of 12 sequences, which cosist of a series of courses related to a theme and allows students to branch out into a topic that cuts across disciplines within the liberal arts curriculum at CMC and the other Claremont Colleges.

Approximately 50% of students will study abroad. They also offer their own semester-long Off-Campus Study programs in Washington, DC and in Silicon Valley, CA. In these programs, students take traditional courses while also interning for a full semester.

A big part of the CMC experience is that they are a residential college. Each of their 14 residence halls and the student apartments have at least one Resident Assistant, who is selected and trained to build community, coordinate events, and serve as a resource for their peers. 

CMC combines with Harvey Mudd College and Scripps College to become Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics (CMS). There are 21 varsity teams that complete in NCAA Divisin 3 athletics. About 30% of CMC students participate ion a varsity athletic team. They also offer club and intramural sports. 

Just 35 miles outside Greater Los Angeles, CMS is located in sunny Claremont, CA, a municipality that fuses metropolitan sophistication with the quaintness of a college town. Nearby you will discover the diversity, arts, and culture of Los Angelese, entertainment capital of the world. 

CMC is need-blind in admissoin, which means applicants who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents are admitted to CMC based on their talents and abilities, without regard to their family's ability to pay. CMC also has limited FA for international students.

The college meets 100% of demonstrated need and if your package includes a loan, the amount packaged to meet need wil be no more than $4K a year.
