Screen Fatigue
My student is getting exhausted, and looking at a screen all day isn’t helping:
- Send them outside for at least 30 minutes. There’s an incredible article here about the way nature reduces anxiety.
- Consider having them back away from the computer screen (at least two feet) if they aren’t having to interact with the Zoom call.
- Set up a standing desk.
- Have them work through one of these mindfulness exercises before, during, and after class.
- Have them set aside a portion of time, each day, in which they do not look at any screens (phone, tv, etc.). Reading is a great option!
