Application opens for Stanford University’s Young Women’s Leadership Summit (YWLS) - YWLS is a free conference for female-identifying high school students that aims to empower attendees to influence the next generation of innovation and business leadership. Students will have the opportunity to hear from inspiring female leaders and connect with current Stanford students and other motivated high school students from across the country. Sat., Nov. 16

9:00 am -1:00 pm - Practice ACT/Practice SAT (Drake classrooms TBA) - Students who signed up have already received a confirmation email. If you didn’t sign up, please note we are full.


Sun., Nov. 17

12:00-4:00 pm - National Portfolio Day (California College of the Arts,  1111 Eighth Street, SF, CA 94107) - At National Portfolio Day, admissions professionals from art and design colleges across the country meet with you individually and give valuable feedback on your application portfolio. This event is free and open to the public. CCA tours and financial aid workshops will be from 10-12, prior to National Portfolio Day. To learn more, click here:

7:00 pm - Learn about UCSB Webinar - This event is only for students in the North Bay since the rep wasn’t able to visit us on her scheduled visit during the power outage. This webinar will focus on life at UCSB: student life, housing, majors, selection criteria, and more.

2:05 pm - College Application Assistance Session for seniors with a free 7th period

Mon., Dec. 2

12:10 pm - 10,000 Degrees Information Meeting - Juniors with financial need are eligible to apply to be part of the 10,000 Degrees program. They offer year-round support and offer a summer institute on a college campus. Current seniors who work with 10,000 Degrees staff will be on hand to talk about their experiences. Pizza will be served. 


Tues., Dec. 3

11:40 am - Scores Back Event for students who took the November 16 practice ACT or practice SAT. Parents of those students are also welcome to attend as there will be an opportunity to ask general questions re: standardized tests.

5:30-7:00 pm - New World of College Admissions Testing (Student Center) - Sophomores, Juniors, and their parents are invited to an enlightening discussion of college admission tests and their role in the admission process.  


Thurs., Dec. 5

2:00 pm - College of Marin Application Session - Seniors planning to enroll at COM next fall can come and complete their online application. Younger Drake students interested in taking COM classes while a high school student can also attend if they sign up on Naviance two days before the date and have not already applied to COM previously.
