PARENT-STUDENT GUIDE TO ATHLETICS

Welcome to the world of high school athletics.  The pages within this website are intended to help you navigate the world of Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) sports with ease.  The Parent-Student Guide to Athletics will answer many of your questions.    Official MCAL sports offered by TUHSD are listed on the Overview page under "Sports by Season".  They are officially authorized by the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and the North Coast Section (NCS), CIF and league, section and sometimes state competition is organized.

Students at District schools may also be interested in other sports such as rugby, crew, ultimate frisbee, sailing, mountain biking and others.  These are club sports which are supported independently by participants and may have school clubs or community organizations which families may join.

Fall Season - August 11, 2025

Winter Season - November 3, 2025

Spring Season - February 9, 2026

ATHLETE REGISTRATION

REGISTRATION DEADLINE

Completed athlete registration including medical clearance is due to the Athletic Director no later than August 4, 2025 for all Fall athletes.  Registration completed after July 21, may delay athlete clearance. Registration for all other season sports should be completed at least two weeks prior to the start of the season.

ATHLETIC CLEARANCE

The Tamalpais Union High School District uses an online registration system called Home Campus. Once an account is created, Home Campus only requires family and athlete information once. Please remember your log in information for future use. If you need help, contact us, or go to your school athletic office where staff will assist you.  

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY

Athletes must have a 2.0 GPA to participate AND have passed a minimum of four classes. If you are below a 2.0 GPA and want to participate, please see the AD to determine if you qualify for a one-time waiver.

INCOMING 9TH GRADERS ONLY will be asked to upload a copy of your final 8th grade report card into Home Campus below. 2.0 GPA applies.
